I am so excited for NSD, but somewhat confused. Is it today, Friday, or is it tomorrow, the 2nd? Everyone on sb.com is up for a party tomorrow!! Anyway, to follow your question, I have only been scrapping about two years, really seriously for a year. But now I am consumed with it!!!

Hi Angela and Happy NSD!

I have been scrapbooking for 15 years. It is the one hobby that I am passionate about. Scrapping is satisfying in that it's very creative and let's me express myself artistically. It also is a hobby that has immediate and lasting results. Everyone loves to see themselves in a scrapbook!

hey angela--thanks

i tried to post my comment--but-i forgot my password--i was able to follow your blog--but--i have been waiting 30 mins for the e-mail that should have my password in it---and --well--i got to clean my house and actually-most importantly--get my srappy stuff completed so i can be ready for the big day tomorrow-----

so with that said--i am have copied and pasted what i was gonna say on your blog--until it wouldnt let me in--(the help page said it could take 24hrs--yikes!!) anyway--so here it is:

well, lets see...I have been srapbooking since my granddaughter was born. I started working on a baby album for her. Then, got so busy with her, work, life in general, it all got pushed to the side. Not to mention, no one else i knew did it. Then about 2 years ago, i was trying to organize my photos, and thought,"these need to go into an album"--so i picked it back up--and boy--did i ever PICK IT BACK UP!!. I also had no idea that the entire globe was on fire with this fantastic hobby! I actually found the site scrapbook.com--because i was looking for ideas on the net. Once i landed at sb.com ---i was HOME!! there i found a kazillion ladies(and a few guys) who are so passionate, talented, knoweledgable about this craft. Each person that i have come into contact with are always so happy to share new ideas and how-to's. I enjoy scrapbooking so so much. I think the best reason, there is not set pattern you have to follow, each layout is your own. There is no right or wrong way to scrap. If you like it--then its a work of art. I have a friend i met on sb.com --and we went and met in person at a retreat recently. She makes very beautiful pages, very dressed up, pages that i call "fancy dancy"--she goes all out on one page, and they are a peice of art. While at the retreat, i was telling her that "well, i dont make my pages like you do, i dont do all the fancy arty stuff, its just not in my comfort zone, I cant just put one picture on a page, i have to have my page tell the story of what the event is all about" My friend responded back to me, a response, that i hold dear, and every layout i complete since then, makes me feel good about the pages i create, she said: "girl, your pages are great, never get down on yourself about them, see, I scrap the picture, to decorate the page, you scrap the memories". That is the nicest thing i have heard about my work! It just drove home, that my work is just fine, I am doing my pages for MY memories. So, why do i scrap? Its something you can do alone, or-in the company of2 to 200 other people and because no matter what your work looks like, there is no right or wrong, its for you by you. {Christine}

Hey Angela...

Let's see, I have been scrapping for 3 years now. I originally started with Creative Memories and soon ventured out to my Local Scrapbooking Store. Then I found sb.com...Boy was I amazed. I never knew scrapbooking could be this much fun. I was constantly inspired by the all the amazing talent. Since then I have turned a dining room into my scraproom and created several hundred works of art. My kids love that I scrap their life and are always showing their friends what mom has created. I love this hobby and couldn't imaging my life without it! Happy NSD everybody!!!!!

I began scrapbooking several years ago... shortly I thought I had lost a picture of my grandmother ( who adopted and raised me).. when I moved back home.. I found it, but also realized how easy it would be to lose such precious memories and history of my family .. my three children live in three different countries....and I feel very strongly about maintaining a picture history of their ancestry...

What I wasn't prepared for.. was how creative and meaningful this art form would be for me.. personally..... I LOVE IT!!

Happy National Scrapbooking Day!!

Happy belated birthday Angela! :)

I've been scrapping just over three years...on the suggestion of a friend at work who thought I might enjoy it. Did I ever!

I'm primarily working on pages for RJ, my boyfriend's 8-year-old son, but I've also been doing a digital Book of Me. I've also done a few gift mini albums, a canvas, frames and tons of cards.

Love this relaxing hobby I found. :)

Hi Angela! I've been scrapping for about 10 years and do it as an artistic expression that at the same time saves my photos and memories. Good luck with the blog! Happy Nat'l Scrapbooking Day!

Hi, Angela! I have been scrapping for maybe 2 years. I've always been creative (runs in my family LOL!) For some reason, I had really tried NOT to get into scrapbooking because I thought it was a "conspiracy" to get you to spend lots of money. Boy was I right (very loud LOL!!!!) I am totally addicted and love it almost more than the images I scrap (my dogs, my children, my life, heritage photos)

I scrap to express my artistic nature, to preserve the memories of my children growing up, & to preserve the family's heritage. My favorite expression currently has a very vintage look. I also scrap to relieve stress and find it very liberating to "cut out" or throw away photos my ex-spouse. GREAT THERAPY!!

Thanks for including me, Angela--you really are an angel! Susie (scrapsmart)

Hi Angela,

I have been scrapping since 2000. My dad passed away in May of 2000 and one of my best friends invited me to go to a crop with her. She was trying to lift my spirits. I went, not thinking that I would enjoy it, and was totally hooked. I've always loved to create - doing all sorts of crafts - sewing, knitting, crocheting, x-stitch, painting, tatting - you name it - I've probably tried it! LOL! So scrapbooking quickly became an obsession for me to unleash my creativity. I love that you can have a finished product in just an hour or at most a few hours. I love preserving our family photos and hope that one day my children will treasure my scrapbooks. I love to preserve memories - actual events - not just the pretty portraits. I hope that by scrapping the photos of different events and memories for my children that they will have more detailed memories than I do of my childhood. So, I do it for my children, but also, I just love to see a page "come together". Thanks, Betty

Hi Angela, thanks for your mail, I didn't even know you had a blog, I'm so glad I found you.

I've been scrapbooking for a little over a year now. Actually, according to my husband, I was in desperate need of a hobby LOL. I've always taken a lot of pictures, and the amount had increased considerably after my kids had been born. I made albums for them, but wasn't too happy with them, and I really wanted to create a journal for them, made prettier by adding pictures, so not the other way around. As it happens, I came across scrapbooking on the internet, found scrapbook.com, registered, and that was the beginning of my addiction.
Unfortunately, I was so intimidated by all the beauty I found, that it took me several months to try a LO of my own. Slowly I've been working to find my own style, only to find that I don't have a style LOL. All my pages look different up till now, and I actually like that fact. I suspect that in time my favorite techniques and preferred look of a page will get the upperhand, but I'm no longer forcing myself to copy others, I want to make pages that reflect who I am and how I feel.
Because of my search for my own style, I have been doing pages without much journaling, which was in fact the main reason I had started scrapbooking. Lately I have been paying a bit more attention to my journaling, so I'm sure I'll eventually get to the place I wanna be with my scrapbooking. Untill then, I'm having so much fun creating, and meeting lots of lovely ladies who share my love for this hobby. Scrapbooking has certainly enriched my life.
xxx Peggy

Hey Angela, Happy NSD.
I have been scrapbooking for 3 years. I love everything about it. From traditional, digi, & hybrid. I love every style of scrapbooking. It's always been important that my children know who their family is. When I was growing up I didn't really. So I try to re-live each day everytime I create a layout. Thanks for the oopportunity for the goodies. YOur awesome.

Hi Angela,
I've been scrapping for a little over three years now. I began scrapping after a trip to Miami and about 300 new pictures. I had a rough go of it, as I had no idea how to scrap. My early pages show it too! But little by little, I made it through all those pictures and by the time I closed my Miami scrapbook, I was hooked. I started buying new supplies and taking more pictures! Now, I scrap every day and I love it! Have a great National Scrapbook Day Angela!
Hugs,
Carol (Keeperofmemories)

Hi Angela!
I have been scrapping for about 1 and a half year, but I have always been creative and done cards with the kids and so on. When I first heard about scrapbooking it sounded like fun and I wanted to try it out. It's a great way of keeping your memories. Now when the girls are big enough it's offering a good "mother and daughter time" too.
Hugs Lisa-olsi

I've been scrapping since 2005. When I started, I didn't even know what I was doing was considered scrapbooking...
What got me was the constant provoking of my creativity; the ability to push further, try new things, think differently.
I have never had such an intense love affair with a hobby beofre. I found so much love and peace while doing it - and still do.
It makes my heart feel so happy to know that I have captured a memory in such a way that it's become more than just a special thought & memory for myself and my family.

And this, is why I scrapbook.

Thanks for doing this. How sweet. I have been scrapping for about 15 or more years. I started when there were no 12 by 12 and we just used business form holders for page protectors. I first learned about scrapbookin when I went to a church retreat and one of our pastors wife showed us. Stickers, colored pencils and construction paper. I think there are still a few in my gallery at scrapbook.com. I use this art form as a diary to my grown daughters and my grandchildren, so I do a lot of journaling.

Hi!
Love your blog! I have been scrapping for 3 years. It all started when I was invited to join a Close to my Heart group that met once a month, and after a few of those layouts I was hooked and off to find my own style. Still not sure I've found it, but I'm having a blast! I scrap to preserve memories, express myself through creativity, and my children 6-17 love to sit and look through the albums. It's a great feeling!

I'm a baby scrapper as I've only been scrapping 15 months - maybe I'm at the toddler stage now! I saw scrapping demonstrated at a quilt show, and the friend who was with me told me I had roo much patchwork 'stuff' already and didnt need scrapbooking 'stuff' too - how wrong she was!! I started by making three albums, all different, one for each of my children, with the intention of giving them a record of their childhood to becoming young adults. I have promised them they will have it for their 25th birthdays. They love them, and check on my progress whenever they're home!
Its a wonderful hobby, where I can indulge my artistic side, and leave a legacy for my children too. I reckon it could be the most wonderful crafty pastime in the world - and I'm part of it!
Happy Scrapbooking Day everyone!
Rachel
